The Slides

Our shoes, from strap to sole, are 100% made in Portugal. We designed our manufacturing process and supply chain to be as short and low-impact as possible, so our shoes are made in a small group of family-owned factories outside Porto, all no further than a 40 minute drive away from each other. We also source our cork from the abundant and responsibly managed cork forests of Portugal.

Our shoes are handcrafted in a small group of family-owned factories outside Porto, Portugal. With generations of experience behind them, our manufacturing partners are as committed to quality as we are. Because of the hand-finishing, we produce a limited number of pairs each release and they are all subtly and beautifully different.

Message slides are compression footwear. Compression promotes better blood circulation, reducing soreness and swelling, improving recovery. Put simply, your feet feel better, meaning your whole body is going to feel better. Our straps are designed to hold the foot snug but not tight, like a really good hug. Whether it’s reducing muscle fatigue or enhancing overall well-being, the hugflex™ upper offers a combination of performance and comfort that is hard to resist.


Our signature footbeds are made from cork and resist impact, sweat, odor, and water. It’s harvested from cork oak trees every 9 years, a process that does not harm the tree in any way. Our cork is responsibly stewarded in the forests of Portugal, made from unused and upcycled wine cork — the equivalent of 9 wine corks per pair — giving this renewable material new life worth celebrating. Care

If your slides get dirty, put them in the wash (yes, really)! Use a gentle cycle with cold water, leave out to air dry.

Otherwise, feel free to spot clean with a dry brush or soap and cold water.

Your cork soles will darken slightly when wet but don’t worry, water won’t impact their durability or the flexibility of your hugflex™ straps.

Shipping

Ground shipping is free (excluding Hawaii and Alaska. Our slides travel from Portugal to the USA, and from us to you. Your contribution to the journey helps us do what we do in a good way. We ship via Fedex Ground which takes 4-7 days depending on your location.

When you place an order, our warehouse will ship it out within 1-2 business days. If you place an order on a Friday or holiday, you can expect it to be shipped the following business day. To track your order, use the order number you receive in your confirmation email.

Currently, we ship orders within the US only.

Returns

Customers have 14 days from receiving their order to return the unworn item for a full refund. Excluding $10 flat rate return shipping. We are small and intentional in every step of this journey. These policies allow us to handcraft and deliver to you the best possible product at the best possible price, every day, and for many days to come.

We can only accept returns if the shoes have not been worn. We recommend trying your shoes on a soft surface (like a rug or carpet) to make sure you love them, before wearing them out in the world. Kindly note that if shoes are returned with wear, dirt, or are in unsellable condition, we are unable to provide a refund for your purchase.

Click here for our Returns Portal to begin your return. Once a return is requested, a shipping label will become available via Loop. We offer a full refund on unworn merchandise, excluding $10 flat rate return shipping, processed via Loop Returns.

Refunds will be issued to the original form of payment once the return is received and processed; please allow 3-5 business days for your refund to show up in your account.

Kindly note if shoes are returned with any wear, dirt, or are in unsellable condition we are unable to provide a refund for your purchase and cannot ship them back to you.

To exchange a product, please return your original item for a refund and place a new order.

Depending on the status of your order, we may not be able to make changes. We recommend reaching out to us ASAP at hello@wearmessage.com and we’ll do our best to help with any updates.


Full payment is due at checkout. The estimated shipping date is noted on the product page, and we aim to ship out your order on that date when the item comes into stock. You will receive a shipping confirmation email as soon as your pre-order ships!


If your order includes products that are both on pre-order and ready to ship, we will ship out the items that are in stock immediately and ship pre-order items as soon as they are available.
