The Slides

Our shoes, from strap to sole, are 100% made in Portugal. We designed our manufacturing process and supply chain to be as short and low-impact as possible, so our shoes are made in a small group of family-owned factories outside Porto, all no further than a 45 minute drive away from each other. We also source our cork from the abundant and responsibly managed cork forests of Portugal.

Our shoes are handcrafted in a small group of family-owned factories outside Porto, Portugal. With generations of experience behind them, our manufacturing partners are as committed to quality as we are. Because of the hand-finishing, we produce a limited number of pairs each release and they are all subtly and beautifully different.

Our straps are designed to hold the foot snug but not tight, like a really good hug. We recommend pulling them on like socks, shimmying your toes to the top of the slide for a secure, comfy, strapped-in fit. Firm and flexible, the stretch knit offers trusted support for your daily movements, whether you’re on your way to grab coffee or running to a breakfast meeting.

Our signature footbeds are made with cork forming an exceptionally durable cradle that resists impact, sweat, odor, and water. It’s harvested from cork oak trees every 9 years, a process that does not harm the tree in any way. Our cork is responsibly stewarded in the forests of Portugal, made from unused and upcycled wine cork — the equivalent of 9 wine corks per pair — giving this renewable material new life worth celebrating. Care

Message slides are built to last, but a little bit of low-maintenance care keeps them in top shape. Here’s how to give them a little extra love.

To clean the stretch textile uppers, use a dry natural brush to dust off any light marks. For heavier marks, spritz water or all-natural stain remover onto the affected area and gently dab with clean cloth or brush. Spot clean and air dry only. Voila.

Cork is a naturally water resistant material, so don’t worry if your shoes get wet — however, you might see some darkening in the cork if the soles are submerged in water. This doesn’t impact the wear or durability of the product. It’s only natural.

Shipping

Ground shipping is free (excluding Hawaii and Alaska) and takes 4-7 days depending on your location.

When you place an order, our warehouse will ship it out within 1-2 business days. If you place an order on a Friday or holiday, you can expect it to be shipped the following business day. To track your order, use the order number you receive in your confirmation email.

Currently, we ship orders within the US only.

Returns

Customers have 14 days from receiving their order to return the item for a full refund.

The box you receive your Message shoes in is also the box you can use to send them back to us. We made it easy by including an additional adhesive strip so you can reseal the box and pop it back in the mail. Easy, breezy, only takes a sec.

We offer free returns, all processed via Loop Returns. Click here for our Returns Portal. Once a return is requested, a free shipping label will become available via Loop.

Refunds will be issued to the original form of payment once the return is received and processed; please allow 3-5 business days for your refund to show up in your account.

We can only accept returns if the shoes have not been worn. We recommend trying your shoes on a soft surface (like a rug or carpet) to make sure you love them, before wearing them out in the world.

To exchange a product, please return your original item for a refund and place a new order.


Orders

Depending on the status of your order, we may not be able to make changes. We recommend reaching out to us ASAP at hello@wearmessage.com and we’ll do our best to help with any updates.


Full payment is due at checkout. The estimated shipping date is noted on the product page, and we aim to ship out your order on that date when the item comes into stock. You will receive a shipping confirmation email as soon as your pre-order ships!


If your order includes products that are both on pre-order and ready to ship, we will ship out the items that are in stock immediately and ship pre-order items as soon as they are available.
